Mary Pat Link, founder of the Interlink Group, http://www.interlinkgroup.com presented on a wireless solution that Interlink has developed for Sun Microsystems called the Mobile Intelligence Platform to arm their global field force (3500+ engineers) with a mobile solution to access and share information while responding to service calls, a wireless 'first' and a collaboration with Symbol Technologies, Red Hat, and other wireless 'shakers'."

January '99 Monique Reece Myron spoke on the topic "Market Smarter Not Harder". Monique is co-founder of MarketSmarter LLC, an international marketing training and consulting firm which specializes in helping businesses increase sales and profits through more effective marketing planning. February '99 Julia Geisman spoke on the topic "SO, YOU WANT TO GO INTERNATIONAL!". Julia is the President of Millennium Learning has recently expanded the company's operation to Europe and has experienced some of the ups and downs of what it means to become international in scope. She will share some of the "things to know" as you consider going global. Specifically, she will talk about finding partners, business development, negotiating deals, managing projects, currency issues, and some of the realities behind doing business outside the U S.

Kathy Simon spoke on "Championing Technology: Growing Technology Infrastructures." Kathy is Vice President of Technology and Planning with Leopard Communications in Boulder. Kathy has 20 years's experience in systems engineering and integration and has worked with Internet technologies for the last 8 years. Kathy's work experience includes 17 years with IBM in its sales and services business units. She has been with Leopard for four years, working with multiple clients in Web site design and implementation. April '99 Cara Hart spoke on "Y2K -- beyond the hype". Cara Hart, Systems Administrator for ARITEK Systems, Inc., discussed what to be concerned about, where to find information,and steps she is taking at ARITEK to ensure Y2K compliance in its software and hardware.
May '99 Paula Sharick spoke on the topic of Virtual Private Networking. Paula (rmi.net/~psharick) has been an IT consultant for 16 years. She is a contributing editor at Windows NT Magazine and writes a weekly column for the UPDATE newletter that reaches 110,000 subscribers. She is a popular Windows NT speaker at national and international conferences and is a featured presenter for Technology Education Network's (TenTV) Spotlight on Microsoft broadcasts. July '99 Susan Brown spoke on the topic "Telltale Signs Your Software Project is in Trouble" Susan has over twenty years experience in the software industry, fifteen of them in senior technical management positions with a variety of Silicon Valley's most shining stars. January '97 Shirley Sostre addressed issues facing startup technology businesses (including copyright and trademark issues and technology licensing). March '97 Aleece Raw discussed the how's and why's of the Internet and Web, especially in leveraging the technology when creating your own startup, as well as how women in technology careers can take advantage of this new medium. Valerie Anderson, General Partner of Catalyst Venture Management, spoke about the history of Sybase, Inc., which she helped get off the ground. She talked about what made Sybase different and what made them succeed. Catalyst Venture Management is a venture capital fund investing in early stage information technology companies in the Rocky Mountain Region
June '97 Meg Hansson of the Boulder Technology Incubator (http://www.metzger.com/bti/index.html) spoke about the Incubator, what the Incubator has accomplished, what we can do for it, and what it can do for us. Meg sits on the Board of Directors and the Admissions Committee of the Boulder Technology Incubator. Meg has many years of technology wizardry under her belt. Her entrepreneurial career ranges from the founding of baby backpack manufacturer Gerico (now Gerry Baby Products) in the early 1970s, to her current activities as CEO of AquaLogic Inc.
July '97 Athena West led a discussion on "Women and Negotiation". Athena is a software developer for Email Publishing Inc. and the founder of CWIT.
August '97 Lauri Blake, Marketing Manager from MapQuest Publishing Group, (www.mapquest.com), spoke about MapQuest - the technology and the market. MapQuest licenses world-wide interactive mapping and driving direction software to other web sites like U S WEST Dex, Excite/City.net, Volkswagen, and hundreds of other sites. The MapQuest web site is #1 in the Travel Category, and #13 in the world from traffic at the workplace (according to Media Metrix, July 1997 report).
September '97 Ida Halasz led a round table discussion on "Leadership". The discussion especially related to women today in the realm of technological arenas. Ida has designed and delivered leadership training to hundreds of administrators on a national level. She is VP of a women-owned company, Powell International, Inc., and among other OD/Training work, is co-writing a series of six leadership/management books.
October '97 Web Page Development Part 1 - Carol Goetz covered HTML development. Carol is the Webmaster at VeriBest, Inc., (www.veribest.com). Margie Alexander reviewed web page development tools. Margie is owner of Random Thoughts and the CWIT newsletter diva. Barbara Lehman spoke on information and interface design for the Web. Barbara's from Carl, (www.carl.org), and has 17 years experience in graphic design. Collette Renteria addressed the technical aspects of creating graphics, such as color palettes, gif animation, size concerns, etc. Collette is the Sr. Illustrator and Webmistress at McData, (www.mcdata.com).
January '98 Web Page Development Part 2 - Cyndy Gal addressed Usability Testing, Lynn Schaper addressed CGI and Perl and Lena Teverovskaia addressed Java development.
March '98 Sarah O'Donnell, founder and CEO of Windstorm Interactive Productions, a leading Boulder multimedia consulting and production firm, gave a presentation on the technological and business challenges of multimedia development.
April '98 Valerie Anderson spoke about how to secure venture capital. Valerie is General Partner for Catalyst Venture Management, a venture capital fund investing in early stage information technology companies in the Rocky Mountain Region. She was also President and Co-Founder of Catalyst Partners, Inc., a management consulting and organizational development firm that helps early and seed stage software companies align their technology vision with real-world market opportunity and attract the venture capital and other resources necessary to build a successful software company.
May '98 Theresa Szczurek told The Story of Radish: Founding and Funding an Entrepreneurial Venture with Heart. Theresa Szczurek helps entrepreneurial ventures and individuals succeed by connecting with their heart-based path. With over 20 years experience in world-wide planning, development, and delivery of technological innovations, she brings marketing savvy, team building skills, and a hands-on management style which produces results. She incorporates traditional business approaches, as well as eastern management philosophies, into her practice. For 7 years as a consultant, researcher, author, and teacher, she has focused on marketing new technology and managing technological change through her consulting firm, Technology and Management Solutions.
June '98 Dana Parker, did an introduction to DVD technology and talked about what it means for electronic publishing and data storage as well as showing some pretty awesome demonstrations of it. Dana has been been speaking and writing about DVD since its inception. She's spoken at professional technology conferences in Paris, Budapest, Brussels, Mexico City, and Toronto, as well as domestically. July '98 Shirley Sostre discussed issues surrounding sexual harrassment in the workplace, including an in-depth discussion of two recent Supreme Court cases that have muddied up the waters a little between that which is proper and that which is not. Shirley runs her own law practice which concentrates in issues specific to technology business, including technology licensing as well as employment discrimination issues. August '98 Julie Jacobs, VP of public access services for Get.2.net and founder of CyberFlyer Technologies, will discuss what it takes to launch a women-owned, high-tech business off the ground. October '98 Kimberly Weiner spoke on "Girls and the Internet". She discussed the various interface & user issues that draw young girls towards using the computer to explore their creative sides. As many of us already have experienced, male use of technology still outnumbers female use. However, the Internet in particular offers young girls compelling reasons to become interested in technology even more than most commercial software packages.
