Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Is there a membership fee?
A. No, we do not charge a membership fee. When we hold
meetings
and other events, we do charge enough to cover the costs.
Q. How do I join? How do I get information about your
events?
A. To join the group, subscribe the announcement list.
We send out announcements about the meetings to the list. We also post them
here on the website, on the Events page.
Q. When are your meetings?
A. We meet the fourth Monday of each month, alternating between
Denver and Boulder. See the 2005 schedule.
Q. When are meeting registrations due?
A. We must receive your payment for the meeting by the Monday before the meeting
(the third Monday of the month).
Q. Can I pay for the meeting with a credit card?
A. We now accept payments through PayPal,
http://www.paypal.com/.
Please refer to our
detailed instructions on the PayPal page.
Q. Did you receive my registration check?
A. Please watch your e-mail on the Friday three days prior to the
meeting. If your name appears on the list, then yes, we did get your check. If
you do not see your name, you are not registered because we did not get your
check. If you do not see your name on that list on Friday morning and you are
sure you mailed a check, e-mail Megan Hawthorn at
Megan@ColoradoWIT.org. She will watch for it and
roll your registration to another month.
Q. How do I add an announcement to your email newsletter?
A. Send the posting, formatted the way you would like it to appear
(no attachments or HTML formatting, please) to wit@coloradowit.org. The WIT Weekly goes
out about once a week, usually on Thursdays. There is no charge for posting in
the WIT Weekly. If your posting is not related to Women and/or Technology, we
may decide not to include it.
Q. Are you affiliated with the WorldWIT organization
or their local RockyWIT group (http://www.worldwit.org/)?
A. We are not affiliated with RockyWIT or WorldWIT,
although we are friendly with each other and cross-post announcements to each
other's distribution lists and such.
Q. Are you affiliated with Colorado Springs
Women And Technology
(http://www.cswat.org/)?
A. We are not affiliated with CSWAT,
although we are friendly with each other and cross-post announcements to each
other's distribution lists and such.
Q. Are you affiliated with Women In Technology International (http://www.witi.org/)?
A. We are not affiliated with WITI (they no longer have a Denver chapter).
